the great gatsby

a bit of a late afternoon post for you lovely ladies. as promised, here are some more of the halloween festivities for you to enjoy. like I said, I am working backwards from the main event. these were from my costume friday night. and just wanted to say thank you for all of the love on my little red costume! surprisingly a ton of people that night had no idea who I was! crazy, right?

I found this gorgeous sequin dress at a thrift store, "how sweet it was", in tucson a few weeks ago. I simply adored it, but felt like it was missing something. it was super easy to add some fringe around the neck line and the bottom, and it turned it into a completely new dress! while it worked great as a little flapper costume for halloween season, rest assured that it will be making another appearance circa christmas and new years.

again, this one was so easy to put together. already had these great chandelier earrings that really scream roaring 20's to me. there are entirely decadent with the pearls, and the faux little rubies. total diva. and luckily I had the gloves and the boa from a murder mystery party a few years back that you can read about here.

I opted against the feather in the hair, and instead went for a few feathery type flowers with little jewels in them. It just felt classier, and I was inspired by the wonderful gossip girl episode last week. raise your hand if you saw it and loved it! woo. anyways, I have my latte in hand and am finally sitting down to check out every one's blog weekend updates and leave some comment love for all of you! happy late tuesday!

xoxo

  3. I don't know which costume I like best - because this one is bananas. I love that you are recycling the dress for various holidays :)
And how in the world did you add that fringe?
Totally agree about the hair piece over the feathers. Feathers are just too much and have been done. You just look amazing.

And I'm ready for Blair and Serena to be friends again honestly. It just isn't the same when they are fighting. But on a fashion note, Blair's costume that night was just beyond.
