H&M rockstar tee.

rockstar-eque? yes? I thought so. H&M had the cutest/most ridiculously priced tee's when I was home last month. I went crazy buying too many of them, but I know with the warm arizona weather that I can rock them very soon. its going to be 75 today in tucson!
so crazy.
today's post will be epically short.
due to the mass amounts of half packed boxes scattering my floor.
you really never realize how much junk you have, until you have to move it from one place to another.

anyways, enjoy another california trip post.
it was a girl's night out. which is always fun. and drama free.

see?
told you it was going to be short and sweet today!
happy thursday

valentine's winner announced tomorrow :)

chandelier earring and midnight kisses.

happy middle of the week ladies!
today and tomorrow are actually the "weekend" for my hubby and I since those are his days off this week. unfortunately, that does not mean we are doing fun things! we are packing the apartment as we speak for the big move.
30 days and counting.
I thought I would take a break and try to finish up these california trip posts.
I am just now posting our new year's eve pictures.
yikes.
I promise we will be caught up by the end of the month!
anyways, away we go :)

new year's eve is always a source of drama in our household. drama as in we always fail in the plan making department. its such an over-hyped holiday and while during the rest of the year we are pro's at planning fun events/dates/parties, for some reason nye is our down fall. we can never agree what we want to do, and in turn can never get our friends to agree.
for our first four new year's together, we couldn't able to celebrate because I was a college cheerleader/dancer and we we away for a tournament every year during nye. which meant some memorable nye's spent in hotel rooms with a hourly check to make sure we weren't sneaking out. awesome.
especially when you are 22 years old!

since we were finally going to be together for a new year's eve (last year we spent at a party with friend's) we wanted to do something super fun. SF is completely crazy on nye and its best to avoid it, if you can. we ended up in the east bay with some of our favorite people. we bar-hopped in walnut creek, and it was lots of fun. :)
you've seen this dress before in vegas, and I was planning my betsey johnson pink sequin number from my bachelorette party, but since we didn't end up going to the city I had to down play it instead. I tossed a long sleeve on under it, so that when we were walking around I didn't freeze.

I did enjoy my new mac lipgloss in totally fab.
because I'm totally fab.
duh.
and hello chandelier earrings! so heavy, but so glam.

my brother in law, Leigh, thinks he is hilarious.
note: he is wearing his "ron burgundy outfit". again.

chandeliers to match my earrings. so thoughtful of them.

end of the night/morning shot. yes, we are staying in my in-laws house. yes, that is a teenage boy's room. and yes, it does smell lovely. thanks for asking.

anyways, a few more days for the valentine's give away.

and kyla, I will email you this week!

back to packing. boxing things is not conducive to keeping my manicure looking awesome.

xoxo

stupid listens to the heart. thrifting in berkeley.

oh hello! ciao to you all on this wonderful morning. I am sipping coffee and about to start that morning run. working out in the morning is the worst, but how good does it feel to get it out of the way early? :)
I'm leaving you with some of more of my favorite pictures from the california trip that never ends. I will be done with the trip pictures in another week or so. just in time for my next journey back to the bay for wedding events.

the original plan was, of course, to wear my red tights with this outfit. but just my luck, one of my dogs decided that she liked my tights more than I did and promptly proceeded to drag them threw the dirt of the back yard at my parent's house.
awesome.

met up with rene and my lovely friend, jen for some coffee.
and we decided to call this my lady gaga shirt.
(because of the puffy sleeves)

and here's jen. such a cutie. she is another one of my friends that I can't help but be proud of. jen is a super talented artist. her paintings are some of the most beautiful creations and she is ridiculously humble about her gift. after dabbling in college for a few years, she is finally going to follow her true calling and go to art school!
the only sad part, is that the school is in northern michigan.
one more place to add to my mission of seeing the entire, beautiful, glorious world.

had to include rene, even though she is going to be super pumped (sarcasm) about me posting this hot looking picture of her. we had just dropped her boyfriend/my brother in law off at the airport at 4 am that morning for a year of training/boot camp. crazy marine.

after some coffee to get us going, we headed over to berkeley for some thrifting, roaming around, people watching (berkeley rocks for this) and of course a mini photo shoot.

true words, diesel. always listen to the heart.
duh.

when I was a little girl and we would come to visit from chicago, we would always stop in berkeley. my parents went to college in the east bay and loved to visit and show off their alma mater. it was SO different from the midwest.
for the longest time, I really didn't believe there was any where in the world like berkeley.
its like traveling back in time.
no joke. its auh-mazing. the shops, and street vendors, and musicians, and art, and just everything there feels like its out of the 1970's. and I love it.
walking around telegraph is a truly interesting experience, especially fashion-wise. the only rule?
anything goes.
dreadlocks? tie dye? neon tights?
they rock it all there. and if your wearing normal looking clothes, prepare to feel out of place.
also? some of the best vintage stores you could ever find. hands down. visiting during those early years cemented my adoration for this eclectic and eccentric town and during my college years in the east bay I made sure to frequent it often. I did live only ten minutes away, after all.

oh jen bunny. I do love you. ;)

ok, I wanted this hat like a fool. however, I couldn't justify it, being that I live in arizona now. and really have no need whatsoever for this funky/awesome hat.
but it looks tres gorgeous on jen, right?
well, she thought I was crazy.
I love my friends, and some day I will get them to embrace outgoing fashion the way that I do.
its my mission.

on another note, I couldn't resisit this hounds tooth peacoat. I am weak when it comes to hounds tooth and it was only 15 dollars. walking away from that would have like an insult to that coat. just couldn't be done. plus, in my defense I had let jen borrow my coat, and was freeeeeeezing.

friends make my world spin round.

after a tiresome day of coffee, thrifting, wandering, and more coffee, we decided it was time for some famous shattuck avenue pizza.
so we hit up the cheeseboard.
obvi.
this de-lish place is in one of my favorite areas of berkeley and its super unique.
it is a pizza/cheese shop and everyday they make ONE type of pizza for the entire day.
for example, on the day we went the daily pizza was:

Cremini mushrooms, onions, green bell pepper, mozzarella & feta cheese, garlic olive oil, Italian parsley.

are you dying yet?

they post the menu for the week on their site and then you just check it out before you head over.
you can order a slice, a half a pizza, or a whole and the prices are pretty killer.
everything is fresh and delicious, and I'm getting hungry just thinking about it right now.
they usually have live music, and when its nice weather out everyone just sits outside the shop and enjoys their 'za.
(on the street, in the median area with grass, everywhere, its nuts.)

drawback?
the line is always ridiculously long.
above is my angry face for how long my rumbling stomach & I had been waiting in the line.
but, oh, was it worth it. yummy/fresh/ healthy pizza.

so there you are. happy tuesday! sorry for my absence yesterday. I am being a busy person/lazy blogger. those two don't compliment each other well.
the most recent project on the line besides
house stuff/school stuff/ wife stuff/ fam stuff?
being the best bridesmaid/honorary maid of honor to my cousin-in-law julia.
I am planning an adorable "alice in wonderland" themed tea party for her bridal shower.
hey, what the bride wants, the bride gets.
so I apologize if I am seeming a little off the walls lately. its going to be a busy few months. :)

oh and go enter the valentine's week give away here!

xoxo

more funny valentine's and a winner!

so, question. do you ever have an outfit idea in your mind, that you just know is going to be perfect? when I found this shirt last week, this outfit began to formulate in my mind. this little stripey shirt had some auh-mazing colors in it.
hello yellows, hello pinks, hello oranges.
I couldn't wait to pull out the bright colors by pairing it with tights and shoes that were equally as bright. I couldn't wait for this outfit to come to fruition.
I wanted to save it for valentine's week so that I could pull out the bright pops of pink.
and then the day arrived and I put the outfit on.
ouch.
sadly, it was not as perfect as I had imagined it in my head. I was not loving it.
at all.
logan calls the yellow tights my "jaundice tights". well you can figure out why.
thanks hun.
well, that happens sometimes.
fashion fails can occur with the best of us. I promptly changed out of the offensive tights and shoes, and downplayed the shirt a bit.

ah yes. that is better. not as exciting, but what can you do.

the hubby and I headed out for the afternoon and had lunch at this place on 4th avenue called
delectables.
it was super yummy. 4th ave is a pretty fun place to visit if you are in tucson. there are tons of thrift/vintage shops, and fun boutiques. it reminds me of a smaller version of berkeley or of the haight/ashbury area of SF.

after lunch we were going to go check out the ansel adams exhibit of the southwest and instead became side tracked when we found this museum on our way.
they were featuring a collection of work by the photographer, david taylor.
it was entitled working the line.
which is exactly what my hubby does. it was interesting to walk through and have him explain more about what he does. the parts that he is allowed to tell me about anyways.

now, what you've all been waiting for! the winner of the busy bee lauren headband! hooray!
and thanks to the random generator.... comment number 15.

the lovely kyla of blue collar catwalk will be the lucky new owner of the BBL headband!
(Kyla, shoot me an email with your address so I can get your prize to you)
thanks to everyone that participated! you are auh-mazing!

and remember to enter the valentine's week give away here
go enter if you want a chance at the de-lish bucket of lovies!

happy weekend!
